Bodywork In Austin

Massage Deals and Frivolous Spending

massage dealsNPR reported this morning that though consumer spending is up – people are still buying washing machines – “frivolous spending” is down.

That’s movie tickets, spas and, yes, massage therapy, too.

Have sign. Will massage.

With the financial markets in the state they are, jobs hard to come by and the future of the world economy uncertain, even your massage therapist understands why you might cut “frivolous spending.” We’re pinching pennies, too.

Massage Deals

If they are any good at business, your massage therapist has a plan to keep you coming in for bodywork.

This guy is working for a massage company willing to try anything to entice to continue to get “frivolous massage” – including being paid to stand on the street with a sign selling massage for $39/hour.

I wonder if he is also a massage therapist.

I tried for weeks to get a picture of this guy on the side of Hwy 620 advertising. It’s a great massage deal – $39 for a massage with no strings attached. (Not even Massage Envy, Massage Heights or Massage Harmony can beat that right now.) But it’s also a sign (pun intended) of the times.

What “frivilous busting” massage deal is your massage therapists offering these days? Share your experiences in the comment field below.
